The Annual Conference on AML and Financial Compliance in the EU brings together current topics, strong voices and practical insights on money laundering prevention and terrorist financing on 12-13 November 2026 in Trier and online.

The tasks and requirements facing compliance officers and MLROs are constantly evolving – as are the challenges of everyday professional life. Which developments lie ahead? We are pleased to announce this year’s conference, organised by ERA (Academy of European Law) in Trier, with the option to participate online. The programme covers the developments of the first two years of AMLA’s legal existence and a look ahead, first experiences from the implementation of the AMLR, AML/CFT compliance in focus (including MLRO responsibilities and the early detection of illicit activity in the digital age), and financial crime and technology, from underground banking systems and digital hawaladars to AI and AML. On the second day, the focus shifts to supervision: crypto and AML, the integration of AML/CFT risks into prudential supervision, enhanced AML supervision and the transition to the new European supervisory architecture, closing with a roundtable discussion among leading regulators.

Among the speakers are Ulrich Göres and Tommas Kaplan (both Managing Partner & CEO, TURN Advisory, Frankfurt), alongside representatives from the ECB, ACPR Paris, the Austrian FMA, the Council of Europe/Moneyval, and compliance leaders from Airbnb and academia, ensuring a mix of regulatory, supervisory and industry perspectives.
